Customer Contact Data Notice

How UnityConnect CRM handles data on behalf of our customers' contacts
Last modified: June 23, 2025
This notice applies to individuals ("Contacts") whose information has been provided to UnityConnect CRM by one of our customers. If you received an email sent through our platform, this notice explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

About UnityConnect CRM

UnityConnect CRM ("UnityConnect", "us", or "we"), offered through unityConnect.us, provides cloud-based customer relationship management and email marketing services. We serve primarily non-profit organizations, temples, houses of worship, community groups, and small businesses. Our platform helps customers manage their member and contact lists, design and send email newsletters, coordinate events, track donations, and analyze campaign results.

We act as a service provider to our customers. We analyze contact information and send communications to our customers' contacts only at the direction of the customer who provided that information, and only on that customer's behalf. We do not have a direct relationship with the recipients of our customers' emails ("Contacts" or "you").

We require our customers — including the sender of any email you received — to use our platform only for permission-based marketing and in compliance with our Acceptable Use Policy. If you believe you have received unwanted or unsolicited messages sent through our platform, please forward a copy with your comments to: abuse@unityconnect.us.

Collection of Customers' Contact Data

Contact Data Provided by Our Customers

Our customers upload lists of their contacts — including email addresses, names, and other contact details — into their UnityConnect CRM account. We may also process demographic data, donation histories, event registrations, and details about contacts' interactions with marketing communications on behalf of our customers. Our customers are required to obtain permission before adding an email address to their contact lists.

UnityConnect CRM does not share contact lists uploaded by one customer with any of its other customers, nor do we email our customers' contact lists for our own marketing purposes.

Contact Data Provided by You

UnityConnect CRM may hold your email address and other contact data if:

Data Collected When You Interact with an Email

Email campaigns sent from our platform may include a web beacon (a small invisible image) that allows us to determine, on behalf of our customers, whether you open an email, as well as your email delivery status and approximate geographic location. Email campaigns may also contain tracking technology that records what links you click and whether you unsubscribe or update your preferences. This technology also collects log data including your IP address, browser type, and version.

Note: Web beacons may be blocked by disabling HTML images or selecting "Text Only" in your email software. Other tracking technologies are only activated when you click a link in an email and you may opt out by not interacting with emails sent from our platform.

Data Collected via Our Customers' Websites

We may also collect data about the devices used to access our customers' web pages — including IP address, operating system type, and content viewed — when you arrive via a link in a customer's email. We (or a third-party partner) may set a cookie on your browser when you access an event registration form, donation form, or similar page. For information on managing cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org.

Use and Sharing of Customers' Contact Data

We will never email our customers' contact lists for our own purposes. Information we collect about your interaction with an email sent through our platform is:

We may share your information with service providers who develop features and functionality that integrate with our products, where such sharing is authorized by our customers. We impose obligations on our service providers to ensure they use your data consistently with applicable privacy laws.

We may also disclose your personal information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process.

We are located in, and primarily store and process your information in, the United States, although we may use service providers outside the United States. When we transfer your information to such service providers, we do so in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

Customer Contact Targeting

We offer our customers features that allow them to better target who they contact, including the ability to segment lists based on member activity, event participation, and donation history. Our customers opt in to these features so they can optimize their campaigns and customize their communications with you. We require all customers to comply with applicable laws and maintain compliant privacy policies.

For more information about how a specific customer uses data, please contact the sender of the communication you received directly.

Choice / Opt-Out

All emails you receive through our platform include an easy, automated way to stop receiving marketing emails from the sender — an Unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. Some senders also allow you to update your communication preferences via an Update Profile link.

If you believe you have received unsolicited commercial email sent through our platform, please report it to: abuse@unityconnect.us.

Requests Related to Your Personal Information

UnityConnect CRM does not own the contact lists or databases held by our customers. We act as a "data processor" or "service provider" under applicable privacy laws, meaning we process your data only at our customers' direction and have an obligation to keep it safe. Our customers are the "data controllers" responsible for responding to your requests (such as access, correction, or deletion of your personal information). To the extent necessary and as required by law, we will support our customers in fulfilling those requests.

If you have a privacy query, we recommend you reply to the email address on the communication you received or contact the organization that sent it directly.

Notification of Changes

We may update this notice at any time, so please review it periodically. If we make a material change, we will update the "Last modified" date above and notify you here or by email. Your continued receipt of emails sent through our platform constitutes acceptance of any such changes.
